I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A HUGE THANKYOU TO THE GTS FRIENDS WHO TAKE THE TIME TO LIGHT CANDLES, WRITE BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTES AND LEAVE LOVELY PHOTOS FOR MY MUM AND SHOW ME SO MUCH SUPPORT,I AM TRULY GRATEFUL.
My Mum Ina Was Born & Brought up In Hatton a small village 9 miles south of Peterhead, 26 miles north of Aberdeen.
She was an only Child. My mum used to work in a convience store in Hatton. She worked there until she married my dad Hector in June 1974. Once I was born we had to move around the country because of my dads job. First we lived in Staines, Middlesex as he helped build a terminal at Heathrow Airport., then to Barmouth on the west coast of Wales, Then to Dunfermline. We finally settled back in Hatton as I was reaching School age and my mum & dad didnt want me always having to move schools.
My Mum Ina was first diagnosed with pneumonia November 2003, She took it really badly and was taken into the intensive care unit of Aberdeen royal Infirmary. It was touch & go for a while then once the anti-biotics kicked in it was starting to make her feel better. She was kept in hospital for 9 weeks until she made a full recovery. The pneumonia had made her so weak and frail. My Mum was such an active person, but the illness had turned her into this frail lady I hardly recognised anymore. Once out of hospital she went home but she couldnt cope, she couldnt do things for herself as she could before. We then put her name down for sheltered housing. So in June of 2004 She moved to Sheltered Housing in Cruden Bay. Everything was fine ,she enjoyed the independence of having her own flat, and carers would come and see to things that she had difficulty doing herself. There were wardens on hand too, My mum felt safe.
Then she took ill on the 8th of January 2008 and was admitted into hospital and it was confirmed the pneumonia had returned. She was just a shell of who she used to be. she could harly walk, it broke my heart to see her like that. It was as though she had given up living.
Then I got the dreaded phone call from the hospital at 3.45 am on the 3rd of March 2008 telling me to rush into hospital as she went really down hill.
So We rushed into Aberdeen ( Thats 36 miles from Peterhead) but by the time we got there I was informed she died at 4.15 am. I was in a total numb state ,I thought id wake up to find it was all a bad dream.
I got to see her and she looked so peaceful, She looked like the mum I had before. All the pain totally gone. I can truely say she looked like an Angel.
My Mum requested to be cremated and her ashes scattered at Aberdeen Crematorium.
Im an only child by my Mum & Dad.
To My Precious Mum Ina.
You were and always will be a special Mum.
I will keep you in my heart forever.
I still cant believe your gone, I always thought you would be here forever.
You are at peace now, But Mum promise me 1 thing - that you will watch over me and protect me.

BUTTERFLIES
As love falls down from the sky,
It lands on the wings of a butterfly.
The butterfly sings it's song and rhyme,
